Pakistan-Australia Prevention of Avoidable Blindness (PAPAB) Project School Eye Health Program (District Charsadda)

Period of Agreement: 

1st June 2016 to 31st December 2016

This Annual Partnership Agreement (APA) was jointly developed and has been agreed to by representatives of the following bodies:

The Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF) & Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology, Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar.

 

Project Objectives:  

1.Service Delivery: Avoidable blindness due to priority eye diseases (Glaucoma & Refractive errors) is detected, referred to the appropriate health service level and treated. 

2.Work Force Development: Selected Mid-Level training institutions are delivering standardized, accredited, high quality training of mid-level eye care personnel (with a particular focus on female trainees) for improved delivery of comprehensive eye care services.

Targets in 2016 in terms of figure:

1.Training of teachers at each school for periodic visual acuity assessment of the enrolled students in their specific schools.

2.Providing spectacles to the ammetropic students screened during the schedule visit for examination of the children.
