PICO World Sight Day Activities 2017 Published in The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness Page

Pakistan Institute of Community Ophthalmology organised WSD celebrations with Gulbahar Lion clubs Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa special education department for ensuring wider impact of the event.

They organised free eye screenings at two locations with patients being given glasses, free medicines and referral for surgery, besides an awareness walk and seminar, distributing publicity material, media articles and district level activities.

They also held an awareness walk as well as a talk in Peshawar in the presence of the Health Minister.

At district level WSD activities took place in districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa namely District Mansehra, Swat, Swabi and Haripur. The district teams organised free screening camps at different locations in which a total 1,387 people were examined.
