Introduction to BS Optometry

Bachelor of Sciences in Optometry is a Four year professional optometry course which includes clinical and practical phases of optometry as well as the theoretical and fundamental aspects of vision sciences. It is spread over eight semesters of professional courses, including a research project.

According to the world council of optometry “Optometry is a healthcare profession that is autonomous, educated, and regulated (licensed/registered), and optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction and dispensing, detection/diagnosis and management of diseases in the eye, and rehabilitation of condition of the visual system”.
